Business Hours vs Working Time

Business hours and a service provider's working time are two separate settings in Appointible. Business hours tell clients when a location is open; working time decides when each service provider can be booked.

Business location hours

Business hours are the open weekdays and hours of a location – what clients see on your booking page.

Key points about business location hours:

  • They apply to the whole location, not to a specific team member.
  • They are shown to clients on your booking page. A location can also hide them with Regular business hours available?.
  • They do not open or close online booking. Bookable slots come from each service provider's work schedule, even outside business hours.
  • A new team member's work schedule starts as a copy of their location's business hours, and Apply to team member can copy them onto existing team members' schedules later.

To manage business location hours, go to Business hours under Settings → Workspace. From there it is possible to:

  • Set or update open weekdays and hours for each location.
  • Mark specific weekdays as closed.
  • Hide the hours from your booking page.

Service provider working time

Each service provider (team member) has a personal work schedule that defines when that person is available to take appointments.

Key points about working time:

  • It is set per service provider.
  • It controls when that person appears as available on the Calendar and which time slots clients can book online.
  • It is not limited by the business hours of the location.
  • It can be adjusted directly from the calendar view for quick changes, or in the Work schedule tab of the team member.

To manage a provider's working time from the calendar:

  1. Open the Calendar.
  2. Find the service provider whose working hours need an update.
  3. Click the pencil icon next to their working hours and update the days and times when that provider is available.

How they work together

  • Business location hours – what clients are told about when the location is open.
  • Service provider working time – when a particular person can actually be booked.

If appointments are not showing as available, check the service provider's work schedule – business hours do not change availability. When the two should match, use Apply to team member on the Business hours page to copy a location's hours onto selected work schedules.
