Client Lists
Client lists group clients who agree to receive SMS marketing. Clients can be added to lists manually, or they can subscribe and unsubscribe themselves using SMS keywords and QR codes. Once a list has subscribers, it can be used to send targeted text campaigns. For a full walkthrough on sending campaigns, see Sending text campaigns.
To let clients subscribe to marketing messages automatically using a QR code, check this guide: Create a QR code for SMS marketing subscriptions.
Open lists
- In the left side panel, click Marketing.
- Click Lists to open the client lists page.
Create a new list
- On the Lists page, click Create list.
- Enter a clear List name, for example:
- "SMS – Promotions"
- "SMS – Appointment Reminders Opt-in"
- "VIP Clients"
- Click Save.
After saving, the list appears in the Lists table with details such as:
- List name
- Number of subscribed clients
- Creation date
Add clients manually
Clients can subscribe to marketing lists in several ways. One simple option is to manage subscriptions manually from the Clients page. This is useful when a client gives consent in person, over the phone, or by email and needs to be added to a list.
Select clients
- Open Clients.
- Use search or filters to find the clients that should receive marketing messages.
- Select one or more clients using the checkboxes on the left.
Assign or remove from list
- With the clients selected, click Assign to list to subscribe them to a marketing list.
- To unsubscribe, click Remove from list instead.
- When assigning, pick the correct list in the Assign clients to list dialog and click Assign.
It is a good idea to double-check that clients have clearly agreed to receive marketing messages before assigning them to a list. It keeps campaigns compliant and avoids awkward "Why am I getting this?" replies.
Check subscription in client details
To see which marketing lists a specific client is subscribed to:
- Open Clients and click the client name.
- In the client details panel, look for the Marketing section on the left.
If the client is subscribed to one or more marketing lists, the list names appear in green in this section.
If the client is not subscribed to any marketing list, nothing appears under the Marketing section.
Next steps
Once a client list is ready and has subscribers, it can be used to send SMS campaigns from Campaigns.
To get the best results:
- Start with a small test campaign to a limited list segment.
- Review the failure rate and cost of campaign.
- Adjust message content, sending time, and audience if needed, then scale up.
